When managing EUDR documentation requirements in Qarma, suppliers are often asked to upload GeoJSON files showing the plots of land where raw materials were harvested.
This ensures transparency in the supply chain and helps complete the Due Diligence Statement (DDS) submission to the EU Information System.
Where the upload takes place
The upload happens once a material supply chain has been created for a product, which is in most cases done by the supplier.
In the example below, two materials have been added — Oak Wood and Birch Wood — each with their own documentation requirements, depending on the country of origin.

Finding the GeoJSON upload requirement
If you look under the Birch Wood Supply Chain in the screenshort below, you’ll see a documentation requirement called “Plot of harvesting area.”
This is where the GeoJSON file should be uploaded.
When hovering over the “+” icon next to the document name, a short description appears explaining what’s expected:

Qarma recommends using geojson.io to easily create your GeoJSON file before uploading it.
Uploading the GeoJSON file
- Click the “+” icon next to Plot of harvesting area.
- Click Add files and upload your prepared GeoJSON file (the file type must be .geojson).
- Enter the production period — start and end dates for when the material was harvested.
- Confirm or adjust the document validity if needed by clicking the pencil icon next to the expiry rule.
- Click Submit for approval once everything is complete.

Reviewing and approval
Once the document has been uploaded, the field will be highlighted in yellow — meaning the document is under review.
After the approval responsible (usually the buyer or importer) reviews and approves it, the field will turn green to confirm completion.

That’s it!
You’ve now uploaded your GeoJSON file for the EUDR “Plot of harvesting area” requirement.
Once approved, this data will automatically be included in your Due Diligence Statement (DDS) submission to the EU Information System.
